• They are not tolerant of the cold drafts and they will not survive for long if they’re being exposed to it.
• Last, but not least, keep in mind that the temperature should not go below 50°F. 

Light

• Snake plants are not too demanding when it comes to the light requirement of the plant.
• They can grow in shady areas, high-light areas, semi-light areas, etc.
• They can be grown outdoors, but keep them away from the direct sunlight. 
• It will dry out the whole plant for a few hours, which will cause wilted leaves and then fall off the leaves.
• If you’re placing them out then keep them near the South or West location, where they will receive combinations and light that is direct and indirect all long in the day. 

Water

• This plant does not require much water to grow well. As they require little water to survive.
• The ideal time to water the snake plant is when the soil is completely dry, which can be checked by inserting a finger inside the soil to see its moisture.
• If the soil is damp, then there is no need to water your plant.
• Snake plants will grow without water for 2 to 6 weeks. Keep them away from the plants that require much water.

Soil

• It requires regular soil to grow. It should be well-drained and moist as well.
• Choose ceramic pots or terracotta pots if you are placing the snake plant outdoors.
• The pot should have a good amount of drainage holes so that the water does not remain in the plant. 
• There is soil available, especially for the snake plants or other succulents, so you can also make use of that soil. 

Repotting

• Snake plants are slow growers plants that do not require to be repotted more often.
• After every 5 to 10 years, they are required to be repotted as they are placed out in the garden.
• If they are exposed to bright sunlight, then they are required to be reported within 2 to 5 years.
• Do not worry if the roots are crowded in the cold months of the year as the snake plants like to be over crowded.

Overwatering/Spraying water on leaves

• Overwatering is one of the issues faced by every plant, which ruins its growth. It is suggested not to mist the snake plants.
• Being a powerful plant, it can grow in any climatic conditions except low temperatures. 
• They tend to retain the water amazingly from their leaves when there is a dry climate outside.
• By misting the plant often, you are inviting fungal diseases into the plant like root rot. It hampers the growth of the plant.
• When you water, the plant does not touch the water to the leaves. Water the plant around the base so that the soil soaks the water. 
• Keep in mind not to water the plant and not to mist the plant. 

Extremely chilly weather

• If your location has extremely cold weather, then you worry about investing in the snake plants. 
• On the other hand, if you have grown the plant, then you can install the plant outside and build a heating system for the plant.
• Keep the temperature range above 50°F. 

Overlooking pest attacks

• Last, but not least, keep a check on the pests‘ attacks, both the plants are powerful.
• This problem comes when you relocate the plant outside.
• It happens because of the other surrounding plants that invite pests towards them. 
• To avoid this, keep a check even on the small infestation seriously.
